The Hellenic Community of Ireland, the teacher of the Hellenic School in Dublin and the School Committee organised an event for the National celebration of 28th of October. The event took place on Saturday 24th of October 2009, at the Hellenic School, and the programme included recitation of poems and songs.

The Hellenic Community organised an open discussion on the topic of "The international economic crisis and developments in Greece". The discussion took place in the Greek School on Sunday 6 September 2009. Two distinguished analysts from Greece were the main speakers of the event: Mr George Karampelias, writer and editor and Prof. Panayotis Papakyriazis, economist, Professor Emeritus at the Economic University of Athens and Professor Emeritus at the California Polytechnic State University.
